The PJHL are pleased to announce that Xavier Bussiere of the Wellesley Applejacks and Nathan Kelly of the Grimsby Peach Kings have been named the Player Of The Month for the South Conference for the month of December.
Doherty Division – Xavier Bussier had a strong string of games throughout the month of January, winning five in a row to start the month, especially a big win against the division leading Merchants to start the month. In those six games in January, Bussier carried a 2.75 GAA and a 0.922 SV%. Throughout the fist half of the season, Bussier carried an 11-1-1-1 record, recording a point in all but one game for the Applejacks in his appearances. He finished the year with a 2.38 GAA, and a 0.921 SV% along with two shutouts. Since the end of the month, the Saginaw Spirit prospect has been called up to the Ayr Centennials and has made 5 appearances for the GOJHL team.
Bloomfield Division – Nathan Kelly has had a very strong first half of the season, leading the Grimsby Peach Kings in scoring with 44 points after 27 games. He has 15 goals and 29 assists in his first season with the Peach Kings. In December, Kelly had four goals and 11 assists for 15 points to wrap up 2024. Kelly had points in six out of the seven games the Peach Kings played in December, all while carrying five game point streak into the month. Kelly only trails Woodstocks’ Davin Gray for the scoring lead in the Bloomfield division, who has six games in hand on him.
Congratulations to both players on the achievement!
