The PJHL are pleased to announce that Joey Coates of the Frankford Huskies and Nate Burelle of the Clarington Eagles have been named the Player Of The Month for the East Conference.
Tod Division – Joey Coates currently ranks second among PJHL scoring leaders with 19 goals and 22 assists for 41 points. The Belleville native has been an integral part to the Huskies forward group, helping them win five out of the last six games of October. Within Frankford’s ten games in of October, Coates had 13 goals and six assists for 19 points, in which he’s carried 6-game point streak. He’s had back-to-back hat tricks against Trent Hills and Picton, and is three points shy of breaking the 100 career points mark.
“A 3rd year player for the Huskies, Joey is making all the teams aware within the division as being one of the top players as he is off to a hot start leading Frankford in points and goals. His 41 points has put him in the top 5 scoring within the PJHL. The ’05 forward is both a leader on and off the ice for his team.”
Orr Division – Playing in his Overage year, Nate Burelle was a scoring machine in the month of October. He had 10 goals and 10 assists in a nine-game span, in which he picked up at least three points in three of those games. Burelle’s 15 goals and 20 assists currently has him sitting 8th among league scoring with 35 points. Burelle also has amassed 5 short-handed points, making him a dangerous options when the Eagles are on penalty kill.
“Nate, playing in his OA year, is off to a hot start with his new team, leading the Eagles in points and averaging a goal a game. His 31 points puts him in the Top 6 of the PJHL. He leads by example playing a solid 200ft game and is leaned upon in all situations by his coaching staff.”
