CAMBRIDGE, ON – The PJHL Power Rankings saw plenty of movement following an action-packed weekend across the league, as winning streaks grew, divisional races tightened, and a new team cracked the Top 10. With playoff positioning increasingly important, several clubs made loud statements with key victories.
Sitting firmly at No. 1, the Essex 73s continue to be the league’s gold standard. The 73s remain steady atop the rankings, setting the pace with consistent play and showing no signs of slowing down as the season pushes forward.
One of the biggest stories this week belongs to the Uxbridge Bruins, who rocket up to No. 2. Uxbridge put together a perfect weekend, earning back-to-back wins over Caledon and Port Perry. Those results not only propelled them up the rankings but also helped them maintain control at the top of the East Orr Division, solidifying their status as a legitimate contender.
The Dundas Blues slide slightly to No. 3 (-1) after a quieter week, though they remain a dangerous team capable of rebounding quickly. Just behind them, the Hanover Barons check in at No. 4 (-1). While Hanover slips a spot, they still hold first place in the North Pollock Division, though pressure is building from teams below.
Two of the hottest teams in the league make major jumps this week. The Stayner Siskins surge to No. 5, extending their impressive winning streak to 10 games. Stayner’s weekend was highlighted by a statement win over Alliston, further reinforcing their momentum as one of the league’s most dangerous teams heading into the stretch run. Joining them in a big climb are the Fergus Whalers, who rise to No. 6. Fergus has also won 10 straight games and continues to surge toward the top of the North Pollock Division. They now sit just five points back of Hanover, with two games in hand, making the divisional race one to watch closely over the coming weeks.
The middle of the rankings sees a bit of regression following disappointing weekends. The Lakefield Chiefs drop to No. 7 (-3) after failing to find consistency, while the Woodstock Navy Vets fall to No. 8 (-3) following tough losses that stalled their momentum. Both teams remain firmly in the playoff picture but will be looking to bounce back quickly.
The Lakeshore Canadiens hold at No. 9 (-1), staying competitive despite a slight dip, while the Tavistock Braves make their debut at No. 10 (NEW). Tavistock has been one of the league’s quiet risers, riding an eight-game winning streak into the rankings. Their surge was capped off by an impressive come-from-behind 3–2 victory over Doherty Division-leading Woodstock, a win that announced their arrival in the Power Rankings conversation.
