PJHL Protest Committee Hearing for Game Played on March 11, 2025, Between the Fergus Whalers and Mount Forest Patriots
The Game outcome of March 11th, 2025’s Game has been overturned in favour of the Fergus Whalers following a Game Protest Hearing.
CAMBRIDGE ONT. – The Provincial Junior Hockey League (PJHL) and Commissioner Terry Whiteside announced today that after the submission of a game protest by the Fergus Whalers, the game played on March 11, 2025, against the Mount Forest Patriots will be overturned and the Fergus Whalers will be declared the winner of the game.
The Protest Committee determined that the Mount Forest Patriots breached Hockey Canada Rule 2.2B, Players in Uniform while enacting the OHF Playing Regulation A6-V, Game Forfeiture after the Fergus Whalers submitted documentary evidence with photos of the player in question alongside the game sheet.
According to the game sheet, Mount Forest dressed 19 players and failed to include #88, Austin Cook on the sheet.
The game sheet presented has the signed acknowledgment of the Mount Forest Head Coach.
A representative from the Mount Forest Patriots acknowledges that they had made an administrative error.
The game played on March 11, 2025, will be overturned and Fergus will be declared the winner of the game. The series will be at three games to one in favour of Fergus with Game Five in Mount Forest on Saturday, March 15, 202,5 at 8:00p ET.
All Protest Committee decisions are final.
