PJHL Weekend Recap – November 21-23, 2025

CAMBRIDGE, ON – The PJHL weekend slate had a bit of everything—high-scoring shootouts, goaltending masterclasses, late-game heroics, and crucial divisional showdowns. Let’s dive into all the biggest games and standout performances from around the league.

Friday Highlights

Napanee Raiders (2) vs. Picton Pirates (1) 
A tight East Tod matchup in Napanee saw both teams trade goals in the first period before the game settled into a defensive battle. Late in the third, Reid Lambert buried the winner to lift the Raiders to a 2–1 home victory.

Dunnville Mudcats (6) vs. Glanbrook Rangers (5) – OT 
A back-and-forth contest needed extra time in Dunnville. Anthony Rodrigues completed his hat trick in overtime, scoring the game-winner to help the Mudcats upset Glanbrook in a 6–5 thriller.

Wellesley Applejacks (5) vs. Tavistock Braves (3) 
Wellesley pulled off a dramatic comeback on the road in a battle for top spot. Trailing 3–1 entering the third, the Applejacks erupted for four unanswered goals in just over five minutes, securing a key 5–3 win.

Georgina Ice (2) vs. Uxbridge Bruins (1) 
The top two teams in the East Orr delivered a tight, disciplined matchup. A late Uxbridge penalty opened the door for Georgina, and Austin Paulmert capitalized on the power play as the Ice edged closer to the division lead with a 2–1 victory.

Norwich Merchants (2) vs. Hespeler Shamrocks (1) – OT 
A defensive battle in the South Doherty saw stellar goaltending from Nolan Carriere and Darren Hagerty. After Hespeler took a penalty in overtime, Tyler McDole struck for Norwich, giving the Merchants a hard-fought 2–1 win.

Saturday Highlights 

Grimsby Peach Kings (9) vs. Streetsville Derbys (7) 
A wild 16-goal game saw Grimsby jump out to a 4–0 lead before the Derbys roared back to go up 6–5 after two periods. The Peach Kings responded in the third with four goals of their own, earning a high-scoring 9–7 road win.

Mount Forest Patriots (5) vs. Wingham Ironmen (2) 
Wingham scored twice in the opening two minutes, but Mount Forest shut things down from there. Jaxon Boone recorded a hat trick, and Drew Cribbin stopped 28 of 30 shots as the Patriots stormed back with five unanswered goals.

North Middlesex Stars (10) vs. Aylmer Spitfires (4) 
The division-leading Stars exploded offensively, scoring 10 goals, including five straight in the second period. Anthony Tudino and Nick Bannister each recorded hat tricks as North Middlesex dominated on the road.

Kincardine Bulldogs (5) vs. Fergus Whalers (3) 
Kincardine stunned the Whalers with a three-goal first period and held steady the rest of the way. Goaltender Blake Beitz was outstanding, stopping 41 of 44 shots to secure the upset.

Lucan Irish (4) vs. Port Stanley Sailors (3) – SO 
A tight game needed a shootout after strong performances from goalies Maddox Nazwaski and Leland Gooder. Zander Pino scored the lone goal in the shootout to give Lucan the win.

Sunday Highlights 

Stayner Siskins (7) vs. Innisfil Spartans (0) 
Stayner delivered a complete team performance, with 17 players recording a point and Dayton Strongman earning a 27-save shutout—his second of the season—in a dominant 7–0 win.

Niagara Riverhawks (5) vs. Port Dover Sailors (3) 
A back-and-forth game was decided late when Cole Bateman scored the go-ahead goal on the power play with under four minutes left, adding an empty-netter shortly after to seal the Riverhawks’ victory.

Hespeler Shamrocks (3) vs. Paris Titans (2) 
Hespeler was powered by a massive performance from Liam Nelson, who scored all three Shamrock goals—including the game-winner with just over three minutes remaining.

Lakeshore Canadians (7) vs. Blenheim Blades (1) 
A heavyweight matchup tilted sharply in Lakeshore’s favour as Aedan Sullivan (3G, 1A) and goaltender Boe Piroski led the Canadians to a commanding 7–1 win on the road.

Lakefield Chiefs (6) vs. Amherstview Jets (3) 
Down 3–1 entering the third, Lakefield erupted for five unanswered goals, capitalizing on key power-play opportunities to complete a huge comeback victory.
