CAMBRIDGE, ON – It was another exciting weekend across the PJHL, highlighted by the annual PJHL Prospect Games in Streetsville and Wingham, where the league’s top 16–17-year-old players showcased their skills. Alongside the prospect action, fans were treated to a weekend full of upsets, overtime thrillers, and standout individual performances across all conferences.
Friday Highlights
Lucan Irish (4) vs. Thamesford Trojans (2)
It was an upset Friday night in Thamesford as the Lucan Irish came into town and defeated the Trojans 4–2, thanks to three timely goals in the final frame — two from Kevin Waters — and an outstanding performance from goaltender Maddox Nazwaski, who stopped 58 of 60 shots.
Glanbrook Rangers (15) vs. Dunnville Mudcats (4)
The Glanbrook Rangers put on an offensive clinic in Dunnville Friday night, scoring 15 goals. Standout performances included seven assists from Joshua Cacciola, two goals and three assists from Hunter McGilvery, a hat trick from Jack Ormond, and four goals with two assists from Braden Carruthers.
Amherstburg Admirals (3) vs. Dresden Kings (2) OT
After the Dresden Kings built a 2–0 lead midway through the second period, the Admirals battled back to tie it in the third and force overtime. In the extra frame, Finnigan Russett played hero, scoring the game-winner to complete the Admirals’ comeback.
Georgina Ice (3) vs. Uxbridge Bruins (0)
The undefeated Uxbridge Bruins are undefeated no longer, as the Georgina Ice shut them out 3–0. Aidan Lindsay earned his second shutout of the season, while Georgina scored all three goals in the second period and shut the door the rest of the way, handing Uxbridge their first loss of the year.
Norwich Merchants (5) vs. Paris Titans (4) OT
It was a back-and-forth battle in Norwich. The Titans stormed back with three unanswered goals in the third — including a shorthanded tally from Jake Kersey to take a 4–3 lead with three minutes to go. However, Nathan Murphy tied the game shortly after, and captain Brandon Balazs sealed the win for the Merchants in overtime.

Early Saturday afternoon featured the PJHL Prospects Games in Streetsville and Wingham, where the league showcased its top 16–17-year-old players from each conference. Below are the final scores and Players of the Game.

Frankford Huskies (5) vs. Picton Pirates (2)
In a tight 2–2 game heading into the third period, the Huskies pulled away with three unanswered goals in the final frame to secure the win. Riley Grimmon led the way with two goals, and goaltender Noah Groenveld stopped 32 of 34 shots.
Little Britain Merchants (2) vs. Clarington Eagles (1)
The Little Britain Merchants pulled off a 2–1 upset win over the Clarington Eagles, capped by a late goal from Quinn Boyle.
Schomberg Cougars (7) vs. Port Perry Lumberjacks (6) OT
It was a high-scoring affair between Schomberg and Port Perry. The Cougars led 6–3 late in the third before the Lumberjacks rallied with three unanswered goals to force overtime. In the extra frame, Mason Bondy scored the winner for the Cougars.
Amherstburg Admirals (5) vs. Lakeshore Canadians (4) OT
The Admirals capped off a strong weekend with a massive upset over the Lakeshore Canadians. After Brandon Leblanc tied the game for Lakeshore with a late shorthanded goal, Amherstburg responded just 44 seconds into overtime when Jake Goudreault buried the game-winner.
Mitchell Hawks (7) vs. Fergus Whalers (6) OT
The Mitchell Hawks completed a monumental comeback after trailing 5–1 heading into the third. The Hawks exploded for five goals in the final frame, including a late tally from Ryan Gansevles to force overtime. In OT, Colten Brenzil played hero, securing the comeback win for Mitchell.
Sunday Highlights
Penetang Kings (2) vs. Midland Flyers (1)
The Penetang Kings edged the Midland Flyers 2–1 behind a strong performance from goaltender Landon Simec, who stopped 20 of 21 shots. Cole Rumbolt scored the early game-winning goal for the Kings.
Wingham Ironmen (2) vs. Hanover Barons (1) SO
The Wingham Ironmen stunned the Hanover Barons on the road, picking up a 2–1 shootout win. After tying the game early in the second, the Ironmen relied heavily on goaltender Colin Gibbings, who was sensational — stopping 50 of 51 shots and turning away all four shootout attempts to secure the upset victory.
Amherstview Jets (5) vs. Napanee Raiders (4) OT
The Amherstview Jets jumped out to a 4–0 lead midway through the second period, but the Raiders clawed back with four unanswered goals — including three in the third — to force overtime. In OT, Brad Wilson ended it for the Jets, securing the hard-fought win.
