PJHL Weekend Recap – October 24-26, 2025

CAMBRIDGE, ON – Another busy weekend in the PJHL brought no shortage of drama, comebacks, and standout performances. From clutch overtime winners to statement victories across every division, teams continued to raise the bar as the season heats up. Here’s how the action unfolded from Friday through Sunday.

Friday Highlights

Niagara Riverhawks (7) vs. Streetsville Derbys (3)
The Riverhawks pulled off an upset in Streetsville, scoring seven goals with help from multi-goal efforts by Keenan Bateman and Michael Colavecchia. Christopher Reid also had a big night, recording one goal and four assists.

Georgina Ice (3) vs. Schomberg Cougars (1)
The Ice stayed hot with a win over the Cougars, despite a valiant effort from Schomberg goalie Ryan Potvin, who made 56 saves on 59 shots. It wasn’t enough to keep the dynamic Ice duo of Seth Kirou and Sebastian Ferris off the scoresheet, as they combined for all three goals. Goalie Aidan Lindsay continued his phenomenal season, stopping 46 of 47 shots.

Walkerton Capitals (5) vs. Mitchell Hawks (4) – OT
We needed overtime in Walkerton on Friday night as the Mitchell Hawks came to town. Midway through the third period, the Hawks held a 4–1 lead, but penalty trouble gave Walkerton a chance to rally. The Capitals scored three power-play goals in the final 10 minutes—including two from Emmett Jackson—to tie the game. Dylan Becker capped off his strong performance with the overtime winner for Walkerton.

Port Stanley Sailors (3) vs. Aylmer Spitfires (0)
The Sailors picked up a huge home win Friday night as they jockey for position with Aylmer in the West Yeck Division. The victory was highlighted by a shutout from goalie Leland Gooder—his first of the season—and third-period goals from Chace Stokley and Rhys Smart to secure the win.

Mount Brydges Bulldogs (4) vs. North Middlesex Stars (3) – OT
What a game it was between Mount Brydges and North Middlesex Friday night. Stars goalie Sean Shanahan stole the show with 67 saves on 71 shots, but it was Logan Gianelli who played hero for the Bulldogs, scoring the overtime winner in a thrilling finish.

Saturday Highlights 

Woodstock Navy Vets (5) vs. Tavistock Braves (2)
With nearly 500 fans in attendance Saturday afternoon, two of the top South Doherty teams battled for first place in the division. The Navy Vets continued their hot streak, earning the win with scoring spread across the lineup and a strong performance from goalie Tyler Bouck, who made 30 saves on 32 shots.

Midland Flyers (4) vs. Muskoka Bears (3) – OT
Midland squeaked out a road win in overtime over the Muskoka Bears, as Ben Armitage netted the game-winner to lift the Flyers. The victory came despite a multi-goal effort from Muskoka’s Kevin Demeules.

Fergus Whalers (4) vs. Wingham Ironmen (2)
The Fergus Whalers came from behind, scoring four unanswered goals with help from Joey Martin, who netted the first two. The Whalers’ defense held Wingham to just 14 shots, securing a strong road win.

Thamesford Trojans (2) vs. Aylmer Spitfires (1) – OT
Thamesford made it interesting late, trailing 1–0 with just over a minute to play before Brett Busby tied the game. Then, just 30 seconds into overtime, Kyle Dolmage scored to lift the Trojans to a dramatic road victory.

Orillia Terriers (8) vs. Huntsville Otters (2)
The Terriers’ offense was unstoppable Saturday night, lighting the lamp eight times against the Huntsville Otters. Standout performances from Lleyton McLean, Evan Gliddon, and Zeke Neely helped lead Orillia to their 10th win of the season.

Dorchester Dolphins (3) vs. New Hamburg Firebirds (2)
In a tight South Doherty matchup, the Firebirds edged the Dorchester Dolphins 3–2 at home thanks to a late power-play goal from Ben Oliver. Despite the loss, Dolphins goalie Jeremy Hardeman was impressive, stopping 45 of 48 shots.

Petrolia Flyers (9) vs. Lucan Irish (3)
After a close game through two periods, the Petrolia Flyers exploded for six goals in the third. Ty Moffatt led the charge with four goals on the night, while Jack McGrail added a pair in the final frame to power the Flyers past the Irish.

Sunday Highlights

Port Perry Lumberjacks (12) vs. Caledon Golden Hawks (1)
The Lumberjacks’ offense exploded on Sunday afternoon, tallying 12 goals in a dominant performance. Austin Fata, Liam Aitken, and Nate Stapleton each recorded hat tricks and added two assists apiece in a phenomenal offensive showcase.

Hespeler Shamrocks (6) vs. Dorchester Dolphins (5) – OT
The Hespeler Shamrocks capped off a perfect weekend with an overtime win over Dorchester. Cohen Mackie tied the game late in the third, and Charlie Pys sealed the victory in overtime to keep the Shamrocks rolling.

Frankford Huskies (4) vs. Trent Hills Thunder (2)
The Frankford Huskies picked up a much-needed road win against the Trent Hills Thunder, with late third-period goals from Ty McCambridge and Blake Ellis lifting them to victory.

Blenheim Blades (7) vs. Wheatley Omstead Sharks (4)
The Blenheim Blades secured a home win Sunday night, jumping out early with five goals in the first period. The scoring came from across the lineup, with seven different players recording multi-point performances in the win over Wheatley.
