On Saturday, December 18th in Norwich the South Conference defeated the West conference 3-2 in a fast-paced entertaining game with over 300 fans in attendance.
Scoring goals for the South were Kyle IIao, Owen Bruder and Carson Schueler with the winner late in the second period. Brendon Smith chipped in 2 assists for the South. Evan Morningstar and Nathan Lavender scored for the West.
South Conference Manager Steve Sumka and West Conference Manager Mark Hagerman were really impressed with the speed and skill level of the game. Many scouts were in attendance to watch these young players.
The MVPs of the game were Brendon Smith from the South and Evan Morningstar from the West. Brendon is a 17-year-old defenseman from the New Hamburg Firebirds. Brendon was solid on the back end from start to finish. Evan is a 16-year-old forward who plays for the Petrolia Flyers. Evan had a goal and created numerous chances for the west.
