CAMBRIDGE, ON – The first weekend of the PJHL playoffs is officially in the books, as teams across the league began their Road to the Schmalz Cup. With the intensity rising and every shift carrying added importance, several players delivered standout performances to help set the tone for the postseason.
Aidan Lindsay (Georgina Ice) – 30-save shutout
The Georgina Ice kicked off their playoff run with a commanding 5–0 victory, led by goaltender Aidan Lindsay, who turned aside all 30 shots he faced in his playoff debut. If Georgina hopes to continue its remarkable season, Lindsay’s steady presence between the pipes will be a key factor.
Jordan Fitger (Uxbridge Bruins) – 3 goals, 3 assists
Ryan Shier (Uxbridge Bruins) – 3 goals
Evan Gilbert (Uxbridge Bruins) – 1 goal, 3 assists
Danny Thomakos (Uxbridge Bruins) – 2 goals, 2 assists
The Uxbridge Bruins made a statement in Game 1 of their playoff series against the Caledon Golden Hawks, earning a dominant 16–0 victory. The offensive explosion featured several standout performances, highlighted by Jordan Fitger’s six-point night, including a hat trick. Ryan Shier added a hat trick of his own, while Danny Thomakos (2G, 2A) and Evan Gilbert (1G, 3A) played key supporting roles in the rout.
Jayce Durand (Exeter Hawks) – 3 goals
Ryder Livermore (Exeter Hawks) – 4 assists
The Exeter Hawks carried their late-season momentum into the playoffs with a 7–2 win over Lucan. Jayce Durand recorded his first multi-goal playoff performance with a hat trick, scoring the game’s first two goals to propel Exeter to an early lead. Ryder Livermore was instrumental as a playmaker, tallying four assists in the victory.
Avery Wease (Frankford Huskies) – 3 goals, 1 assist
Ryan Turney (Frankford Huskies) – 1 goal, 3 assists
Liam Boyer (Frankford Huskies) – 20-save shutout
The Frankford Huskies erupted for 12 goals on home ice against the Trent Hills Thunder. Goaltender Liam Boyer recorded a 20-save shutout—his third of the year, including the regular season. Offensively, Avery Wease led the charge with three goals and an assist, while defenseman Ryan Turney contributed a goal and three assists in a complete team effort.
Cole Lewis (Kincardine Bulldogs) – 4 goals, 1 assist
After a stellar regular season in which he posted 57 points, Cole Lewis carried his scoring touch into the playoffs in Kincardine’s 6–3 victory. Lewis delivered four goals and an assist, with three of his tallies coming in the second period to help the Bulldogs build a decisive lead.
Justin Skirten (Exeter Hawks) – 3 goals
Tanner Thayer (Exeter Hawks) – 1 goal, 4 assists
The Exeter Hawks stayed red-hot in Game 2 with a 9–2 victory. Justin Skirten recorded a hat trick, bringing his playoff total to six goals through the Hawks’ first three games. Tanner Thayer continued his strong late-season form, contributing a goal and four assists in another dominant performance.
Marcus Levesque (Essex 73s) – 1 goal, 3 assists
Drew Ferenc (Essex 73s) – 1 goal, 3 assists
The Essex 73s picked up right where they left off after the PJHL’s top regular-season campaign, earning an 11–0 win over the Walpole Island Wild in Round 1 action. Marcus Levesque and Drew Ferenc each recorded a goal and three assists to pace the 73s in the decisive victory.
Duncan Grube (Alliston Hornets) – 3 goals, 2 assists
Duncan Grube followed up a three-point effort in Game 1 with a five-point performance, scoring three goals and adding two assists. The longtime Hornet now sits at 62 career playoff points, and his offensive production will be crucial as Alliston looks to advance through the Carruthers Division.
David Brown (Blenheim Blades) – 3 goals, 1 assist
The Blenheim Blades opened their playoff campaign Sunday evening against the Wheatley Omstead Sharks with a 6–3 victory. David Brown made an immediate impact in his playoff debut, scoring three times and adding an assist to help the Blades overcome an early deficit and take the series lead.
Kyle Greene (Lakeshore Canadiens) – 2 goals, 2 assists
Julian Gignac (Lakeshore Canadiens) – 2 goals, 2 assists
The Lakeshore Canadiens jumped out to a 3–0 series lead thanks to a 7–2 Game 3 win. Forwards Kyle Greene and Julian Gignac each posted two goals and two assists, powering Lakeshore to another convincing victory as they look to close out the series Tuesday evening.
Christopher Reid (Niagara RiverHawks) – 2 goals, 5 assists
Michael Colavecchia (Niagara RiverHawks) – 1 goal, 5 assists
Keenan Bateman (Niagara RiverHawks) – 3 goals, 1 assist
The Niagara RiverHawks delivered one of the most explosive performances of the early playoffs in a 10–1 victory. Christopher Reid led the way with seven points (2G, 5A), while Michael Colavecchia added six points of his own. Keenan Bateman supplied the finishing touch with a hat trick, rounding out a dominant offensive showing.
