CAMBRIDGE, ON – A winter storm across Ontario cut Sunday’s slate short, but the games played on Friday and Saturday still delivered plenty of standout performances across the PJHL. From multi-point efforts to dominant goaltending displays, players stepped up when it mattered most.
Noah Vandenbrink (Aylmer Spitfires) — 1 goal, 3 assists
Callum Besley (Aylmer Spitfires) — 58 saves on 61 shots
In a 6–3 road victory over the Thamesford Trojans, Aylmer captain Noah Vandenbrink and goaltender Callum Besley led the way for the Spitfires. Vandenbrink recorded a goal and three assists, including the shorthanded game-winning goal. Despite being outshot 61–35, Besley stood tall, stopping 58 shots to secure his fifth win of the season.
Jordan Marconi (Grimsby Peach Kings) — 2 goals, 2 assists
Marcus Harris (Grimsby Peach Kings) — 1 goal, 4 assists
In a high-scoring matchup between the Grimsby Peach Kings and Dundas Blues, a dynamic duo powered Grimsby to a 9–6 victory. Marconi chipped in with two goals and two assists, while newly acquired forward Marcus Harris continued his strong start with the Peach Kings, recording five points. Harris now has three multi-point performances since joining the team.
Kylar Brocklebank (Dunnville Mudcats) — 2 goals, 2 assists
The young Dunnville Mudcats forward delivered a timely performance in a thrilling 7–6 overtime win over the Niagara RiverHawks. Brocklebank was particularly effective during a back-and-forth second period, contributing two goals and an assist to help build a lead before the Mudcats sealed the victory in overtime.
Lucas Rogers (Petrolia Flyers) — 3 goals
Ben Kraft (Petrolia Flyers) — 37 saves on 38 shots
The Petrolia Flyers received standout performances at both ends of the ice in a 6–1 win. Goaltender Ben Kraft continued his strong season, turning aside 37 of 38 shots, with the lone goal coming in the final three minutes. Offensively, Lucas Rogers led the way with a hat trick—his first of the season.
Chase Wedlake (Exeter Hawks) — 2 goals, 2 assists
In a West Yeck Division matchup, Chase Wedlake recorded his first multi-goal game of the season, adding two assists in an Exeter victory. With the Hawks trailing 3–1 entering the third period, Wedlake factored into all five unanswered goals, finishing the night with four points.
Caleb Rosseel (Mooretown Flags) — 3 goals
Jace Dupuis (Mooretown Flags) — 2 goals, 2 assists
Dylan Dupuis (Mooretown Flags) — 3 goals, 2 assists
The Mooretown Flags’ offense was firing on all cylinders Saturday night in a 9–2 home win over the Dresden Kings. Caleb Rosseel recorded his first hat trick of the season, while captain Jace Dupuis added four points to bring his season total to 51. Dylan Dupuis continued his strong play with his best performance of the season, tallying five points and extending his multi-point streak.
Aidan Cowan (Port Hope Panthers) — 27-save shutout
In a defensive battle, the Port Hope Panthers relied on a stellar performance from Aidan Cowan, who stopped all 27 shots he faced in a 1–0 victory. The shutout marked the first of Cowan’s PJHL career.
Spencer Walker (Penetang Kings) — 2 goals, 3 assists
The young Penetang Kings forward recorded a breakout performance with five points in a 7–2 win. Walker scored the game’s first two goals before adding three assists, marking just his second multi-point effort of the season.
Josh Purtill (Mitchell Hawks) — 36-save shutout
In one of the games still played Sunday evening, Josh Purtill starred between the pipes for the Mitchell Hawks, stopping all 36 shots in a 5–0 win over the Wingham Ironmen. Recently acquired by the Hawks, Purtill earned his first shutout with the club in his fifth start.
