Top Weekend Performances – January 9-11, 2026

CAMBRIDGE, ON – This weekend’s PJHL slate was shortened with All-Star Games taking over the schedule on Sunday, but Friday and Saturday still delivered no shortage of standout performances across the league. From explosive offensive nights to dominant goaltending efforts, here are the top individual performances from the weekend.

Evan Storie (Grimsby Peach Kings) – 1 goal, 4 assists
Matthew Mongeau (Grimsby Peach Kings) – 5 assists
Marcus Harris (Grimsby Peach Kings)  – 3 goals, 1 assist
Kaleb Lyttleton  (Grimsby Peach Kings) – 3 goals

The Grimsby Peach Kings offense erupted in a 10–3 victory over the Hagersville Hawks on Friday night, highlighted by a wave of standout performances. Captain Evan Storie led the charge with a goal and four assists, while Matthew Mongeau was a playmaking force, dishing out five assists. Marcus Harris and Kaleb Lyttleton provided the finishing touch, each recording hat tricks in the convincing win.

Ben Oliver (New Hamburg Firebirds) – 3 goals, 1 assist
Owen Bruder (New Hamburg Firebirds) – 3 goals

New Hamburg picked up a massive 8–4 road win over the Norwich Merchants on Saturday evening, powered by two hat-trick performances. Ben Oliver opened the scoring and added two more to push his season total to 21 goals. Owen Bruder scored twice late to complete his three-goal night, marking his first multi-goal game of the season.

Ryan Forwell (Fergus Whalers) – 4 goals

The Fergus Whalers bounced back after a tough stretch thanks to a dominant offensive effort from Ryan Forwell. Forwell scored early, added another in the second period, and finished with two more in the third for a four-goal performance. His goal total now sits at 19 following his best scoring outing of the season.

Michael Colavecchia (Niagara RiverHawks) – 4 goals, 1 assist

Michael Colavecchia continued his dominant season, pushing his total to 51 points after a four-goal, one-assist performance against the Streetsville Derbys. Colavecchia scored four straight goals in just over 10 minutes during the second period before adding an assist later in the game.

Carter McDougall (Thamesford Trojans) – 33-save shutout

In this weekend’s PJHL Spotlight Matchup, the Exeter Hawks traveled to Thamesford but ran into a brick wall in Trojans goaltender Carter McDougall. McDougall stopped all 33 shots he faced, earning his first shutout of both the season and his PJHL career.

Jace McGrail (Petrolia Flyers) – 1 goal, 5 assists
Ben Kraft (Petrolia Flyers) – 51 saves on 52 shots

The Petrolia Flyers remain firmly in the fight near the top of the West Yeck Division, thanks in large part to Jace McGrail and goaltender Ben Kraft. McGrail played a major role in Saturday’s win over Aylmer, recording a goal and five assists and bringing his total to 10 points over his last three games. In goal, Kraft picked up his fourth straight win, turning aside 51 of 52 shots.

Jake Vancoillie (Blenheim Blades) – 35-save shutout

The Blenheim Blades earned a tight Sunday night win over the Wheatley Omstead Sharks, with Jake Vancoillie anchoring the effort in net. While the Blades offense managed just two goals, Vancoillie was a stabilizing force, stopping all 35 shots he faced. The shutout was his third of the season, tying him for second most in the PJHL.
