CAMBRIDGE, ON – The PJHL delivered a full slate of action this weekend, with players across the league rising to the occasion. Big nights on offense and exceptional performances in goal highlighted a weekend packed with energy, momentum swings, and game-changing moments. Here are the top individual performances from around the league.
Anthony Lovisa (Alliston Hornets) – 34-save shutout
The Alliston Hornets hosted the Orillia Terriers on Friday night, and while the Hornets’ offense exploded for five goals, goaltender Anthony Lovisa was perfect at the other end. Lovisa turned aside all 34 Orillia shots to record his first career PJHL shutout, a standout performance by the 17-year-old netminder.
Zasha Ortman (Kincardine Bulldogs) – 4 goals
In a high-scoring matchup between Kincardine and Walkerton, Zasha Ortman stole the spotlight by scoring four goals, all before the start of the third period. Ortman’s offensive outburst proved crucial as the Bulldogs secured an 8–4 victory. It marked Ortman’s first multi-goal game of the season.
Jack Lewis (Essex 73s) – 3 goals, 1 assist
The red-hot Essex 73s traveled to Walpole Island on Saturday afternoon, and Jack Lewis got things started early with a goal just five minutes into the game. Lewis added a second-period assist before scoring twice late to finish with three goals and one assist, leading the way in a dominant Essex victory.
Callum Besley (Aylmer Spitfires) – 74 saves on 78 shots, win
Aylmer Spitfires goaltender Callum Besley delivered a remarkable performance at home against the Exeter Hawks. With a depleted Spitfires lineup allowing numerous scoring chances, Besley faced 78 shots over 60 minutes. Backed by a late goal, Aylmer rallied to victory behind Besley’s outstanding effort between the pipes.
Dylan Courrier (Port Dover Sailors) – 4 goals
Trevor Nunn (Port Dover Sailors) – 2 goals, 3 assists
The Port Dover Sailors erupted for 10 goals, led by Dylan Courrier and captain Trevor Nunn. Courrier opened the scoring just 23 seconds into the game, completed a hat trick, and added a late goal to seal the win. Nunn continued his climb up the PJHL scoring leaderboard with five points, contributing two goals and three assists as the Sailors’ primary playmaker.
Stanley Mannell (Niagara Riverhawks) – 31-save shutout
The Niagara Riverhawks traveled to Hagersville and received a complete team effort, highlighted by goaltender Stanley Mannell. Backed by a seven-goal offensive showing, Mannell stopped all 31 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the season.
Isaac Truman – 4 assists
Tobias Iantorno – 3 goals
Logan Crummy – 3 goals, 1 assist
(Petrolia Flyers)
The Petrolia Flyers continued their strong play with a 10-goal performance on the road in Lucan. Tobias Iantorno and Logan Crummy each recorded hat tricks, combining for six goals, while reigning West Yeck Player of the Month Isaac Truman led the charge as the primary facilitator, registering four assists.
Ethan Baker (Clarington Eagles) – 3 goals
Aidan Miller (Clarington Eagles) – 2 goals, 2 assists
The Clarington Eagles found offense early and often against the Caledon Golden Hawks. Ethan Baker recorded his second hat trick of the season, bringing his goal total to nine, while Aidan Miller added his best performance of the year with four points in the Eagles’ win.
Will Richardson (Port Stanley Sailors) – 52 saves on 53 shots
Will Richardson was outstanding in goal for the Port Stanley Sailors against the North Middlesex Stars. Facing a barrage of 53 shots, Richardson turned aside all but one as the Sailors cruised to a 6–1 victory.
Mason Goodfellow (Napanee Raiders) – 3 goals, 1 assist
Jackson Barnes (Napanee Raiders) – 5 assists
Goodfellow and Barnes powered the Napanee Raiders offensively, combining for eight points in a strong team performance, as the Raiders managed to pull out a shootout win over the Trent Hills Thunder. Goodfellow provided a late power-play goal for the Raider to send the game to extra time.
Carter Bowerman (Exeter Hawks) – 3 goals, 1 assist
Harrison Meulensteen (Exeter Hawks) – 1 goal, 4 assists
In the final game of the weekend, the Exeter Hawks earned a 6–4 win over the Thamesford Trojans behind a pair of standout performances. Carter Bowerman scored all three of his goals before the third period, while Harrison Meulensteen contributed four assists, including three on Bowerman’s goals, before adding a late tally to seal the victory.
