February Players of the Month

Tod Division:
This month we have co-winners of the Player of the Month award within the Tod Division of the East Conference.  With postponements in December and the league put on hold throughout January.

Mathieu Halle, Captain of the Amherstview Jets, continued to lead the East in scoring, tallying 8 goals and 10 assists (18 Points) in the month of February. On the season, on top of PJHL with 70 points in 27 games (2.59 points/game).

A native of Belleville, Ontario, Nate Boomhower finds himself in his fourth year with the Picton Pirates.  After a 6 game appearance with the ECHL's Wheeling Nailers just before Christmas, Nate returned to the Picton Pirates and picked up right where he left off when the season resumed. As of this article, he leads the Picton Pirates with 13 goals and 22 assists through 22 games this season and in the month of February has put up 15 of those points in just 8 games. With the regular season nearing a close and playoffs just around the corner, it appears that Boomhower is hitting his stride at the perfect time.

Carruthers Division:
Cameron Kokelj, Captain and Forward of the Schomberg Cougars scored 9 goals and 8 assists within 8 games.

 

Pollock Division:
Evan Visser, Forward of the Wingham Ironmen scored 8 goals and 3 assists in 7 games and earned a total of 11 points.

Orr Division:
This month we have co-winners of the Player of the Month award within the Orr Division of the East Conference.  With postponements in December and the league put on hold throughout January.

Cole Kimble, Forward for the Little Britain Merchants, Cole is a locally talented player who spent time in Little Britain at the age of 17, then left home to play Jr B for Komoka and St. Thomas.  After stints with those teams, he then spent some time with Elliot Lake in the NOJHL before returning home to play in Little Britain.  Cole has had a strong regular season with the Merchants compiling 44 points, 23 of the

goals in only 21 games played.  The Merchants Hockey Club is counting on Kimble and his teammates making a deep run for the Schmalz Cup Championship.

Stevie Leskovar, Defenceman of the Lakefield Chiefs. Stevie Leskovar is a big 6’3” rearguard patrolling the blue line for the Lakefield Chiefs this year.  He is a 5th round draft choice of the Peterborough Petes 2020 draft.  While gaining more experience with the Chiefs Hockey Club, he is taking advantage of his development jumping up in the play as he has amassed 18pts in 16 games.  Of the 18pts, with 10 of them being goals. 7 of those have been scored on the PP.  Stevie is not afraid to jump up in the play to create opportunities for his linemates.  He will be looked upon helping the Chiefs make a run in the upcoming playoffs.

Yeck Division:
Nathan Young, Goalie of the Exeter Hawks, Nathan came back to the Hawks this year from Jr B and has not disappointed! He has had a very successful year with 14 wins and only 1 loss. Nathan also had 1.80 goals-against average for the regular. Young has played a key role in Exeter’s success this year and is looking forward to the playoffs!

Bloomfield Division:
Alex Pettipiece, Assistant Captain and Foward for the Niagara RiverHawks, with 19 goals and 14 assists this season.

Doherty Division:
Austin Forsyth, Captain and Forward of the Norwich Merchants, with 19 goals and 20 assists so far this season.
