The PJHL has held prospect games in New Hamburg the last few years with each Division having a team that played one game during the prospect day. This day has always showcased our best 16 and 17-year-old players in front of scouts from all levels of hockey. Because of Covid 19 and the late start to the season, the PJHL is hosting two games in December this year. On December 11th at 1 pm, the North and East conferences will be playing a game in Orillia that will feature the top 20 players from each conference. On December 18th the West and South will showcase their top 20 players from each conference in Norwich at 1 pm. A big thank you from the PJHL to Orillia and Norwich for putting this together on short notice. We asked the commissioner of the PJHL, Terry Whiteside about the importance of prospects day and this is what he had to say,
“With the late start to the season this year we decided to host two separate Prospect Games. The Prospect Games are important because it helps our league showcase the top 16 and 17-year-old players in our league. These players are looking for opportunities to move to the next level of hockey and the PJHL wants to help facilitate that development for this part of our league. We will be inviting scouts from the Jr B and Jr A leagues to attend these games and look for their next player. We will also be utilizing our new ‘The PJ’ logo on the jerseys so watch for them. They look great!”
The new PJHL logo is featured above! ‘The PJ’ is something we started looking at a couple of years ago. With the re-branding of our social media sites and our tag line of ‘Play the PJ’, it made sense to create a logo to use in our marketing. We will use this logo along with our official logo to help brand ‘The PJ’ and create more awareness for our league. It puts a fun spin on our brand and the J is made to resemble a hockey stick which adds a little more fun to the logo. We hope everyone likes it.
Rosters will be posted on November 15th so stay tuned!
